Word-Is-Truth Christian Church was founded because of our dedication and commitment to the Word of God which we believe is the truth. We started a bible study and seven years later this small group from New Jersey founded Word-Is-Truth Christian Church in 2001. We met twice weekly for 15 years.
Then, we began to meet virtually. Now, we can say that ours is a virtual Church without walls, and we continue to meet twice a week. We are a small group without physical borders. Our focus is on teaching the word of God, and we believe we have a unique perspective. You will have to see for yourself why we think we are unique. The times in which we live are characterized by a loose handling of the sacred Word of God. Our attitude toward God will be seen by our handling of the very thing that He declares reveals who He is and what is His will—His own Word. |
If we do not know the Word of God, then we do not know God. If we do not reverence the Word of God, then we do not reverence God. If we do not have humility towards the Word of God, then we do not have humility towards God! It is our objective to dust off the cobwebs of indifference and ignorance of the Word of God and place it where it belongs: on the throne of our souls.
Many churches are boasting that they have the truth. They are claiming they alone possess the truth of God. But, the truth belongs to God; it is found in only one place, His Word. “Your word is truth” (John 17:17b). Truth will be discovered and determined by what His Word teaches and never by philosophy, emotion, or any Church’s traditions.

Meet the founding members of Word-Is-Truth Christian Church:
Pastor Doug Presley & Family
Thank you for stopping by! I would like you to meet my family. My wife, Carol and my two young ladies, Kerryn and Kia, all grown up now. So, you want to know me? I have many pursuits and passions in this life, but here is one that not everyone knows. It is my love for God’s word. I have worked various jobs, some I enjoyed more than others and now I am retired. However, this bible thing has stuck with me over all these years, through all the ups and downs, it has been that ray of light shining in my life.
I guess I started this focus in my mid to late 20s. Now listen, I will not thump my chest here and shout about how much I love God. And I will not flaunt my degrees and accomplishments. I will not claim titles such as Reverend, or Reverend Doctor. Although, there are some who call me Pastor. As James said, “I will show you my faith by my deeds” (Jas 2:18). You can decide for yourself about who I am. It is not easy to share myself in this way, I always thought of myself as a private person, but here it is. I sincerely hope you can benefit from something spoken or written here. God’s Best to you, Doug.
PS. Oh yes, I almost forgot my 4 grandchildren (Faith/Freedom/Clifford/Caleb). I am enormously proud of this most prestigious title given to me by them - Grand Doug!

Deacon William Myers
I have encountered the most unique spiritual experience through my Pastor over many years. This has come through the enrichment of our focus on the word of God. I believe the true gospel of the bible, that the world has not believed. This is why Jesus says that “few there be that find it” (Matt 7:14b). Through the Word-is-Truth ministry, I have been enlightened to the narrow way of which Jesus spoke. Come and join the path that leads to righteousness. Like so many others, I thought I knew the way. But, I only knew the way that “seems right to man.” After coming to the knowledge of the truth through the Word of God, I have come to depend on the Word of God now, more than on my feelings. I encourage you to spend some time with Word-is-Truth Christian Church. |

Deacon David Snead
I was born and raised in Newark, NJ. At an early age, I always wanted to know who and what God was all about. I attended Jersey City State College and majored in music. I also have a Certificate from Cittone Institute in NJ. It wasn’t until later in life that I heard the true Gospel. I always thought I knew the true Gospel, but found that I was simply obeying my religious roots. Under the Word-is-Truth ministry, I learned to believe in what the Bible actually says concerning salvation. Prior to the Word-is-Truth Church, I attended Bible classes for 7 years with Pastor Presley. Every time I think about it, I must thank God for His marvelous providence. |
